I have been making music since 1992. I started with Amiga 500, 8-bit sampler and MIDI-keyboard. Soon I bought some synths and upgraded Amiga 500 to Amiga 1200. Also sampler got more bits (12-bits). So everything started with sampling and synth programming.
4-channel MODs are big influences (tracks, demos, intros, games), also C64 SID-tracks from 80's. In 90's I did DJ-gigs and also searched different electronic music styles. Even I did DJ-stuff, I have always been listening rock, pop, metal etc. Trash metal was big influence; Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Sepultura, Stone to name few. Also rock music like AC/DC, Dire Straits, Sting and many other are big influences. Since 1994 I have been big fan of prog metal and rock, later fusion jazz and more "complex" music. So I use to mix these different genres.

Multitracked demo of Yamaha MU100R synth module and PLG100-VL -solo expansion. External Eventide Space and delay used. I used to own VL70-m with breath controller over 20 years ago. MU100R is doing backing tracks and I tried to use VL as much as possible using different type of sounds. All the patches are stock presets trying to play expressively with velocity, modwheel, pitchbend and aftertouch.

Absolutely spectacular sounds and beautiful playing and sound design sound design! I have a Mininova too, but to my ears, it has some sort of mid-range hump that I don't particularly like. Have you applied some serious equalization to get rid of that? I don't hear even a hint of the mid-range issue here.

I tried to watch it but got interrupted by ads once it started getting good, then tried again from the beginning and it got interrupted. @@oz1836 Mine is TI 1 but they probably have same patch set or you can load them anyway. Sometimes I make heavy tweaking while playing or record it to midi-track. Usually you can't overwrite ROM-patches.

I have mine in the rack, never used it much. I have too many synths and this one is the simplest. I should pay more attention to it.
It is so different synth than others, in a good way.
The V-Synth is a remarkable machine. However, samples transfer is somewhat awkward and finally I did sell the V-Synth. Imho not the most user friendly synth but luckily it sounds nice.
Thanks for actually gett ing the proper sound output recorded. Most of these videos demonstrating it are people recording their speaker outputs in their rooms.

I have the SY77 with all the original cards. But i need to replace the floppy with the emulator and fix 1 key that stopped returning. This video reminded me that i need to do those things very fast! XD

Does the terrible latency cause you any issues when sequencing? I sold mine it was so bad...
I used only Midi+Audio outputs.
@@PanuMSavolainen There is 15ms+ of latency even when only using MIDI + audio outputs, which Roland have admitted.

I had a real Jupiter 8 and mks 80 in the 90s, this digital crap sounds as a joke.
Sure...If you really owned those and you are aware of synth technology, you would not tell such a load of crap. That is because scientific blind tests on university level have long proven that people can not hear the difference between analog and digital. If you claim you can, than you completely deny science. But I know, there are still people telling the moon landings never took place...
those "scientific" test did include producers with 30 years on this who had almost all the big synths back in the 90s or were done to idiots who even sleep with an iphone on under their pillows? shut up you plug-in idiot, buy class, brain and a new pair of hears if you like bad copies as Trolland does or Uli the psychopath. get a job@@sK3LeTvM1 btw, that is not synth technology, is pc technology, since those are not synths, but computers with knobs.
ACB sounds pretty good to me. My only gripe is the 4 voices and lack of many of the real Jupiter's iconic features.
We need a new version with more voices and 2 layers!

@@ironinquisitor3656 - they certainly did mean that! But Roland will be very slow to oblige (if they ever do) so it’s up to Behringer to give people what they want. Again.

I have two JP-08 and they sound fantastic together in Dual mode.

is this synth even being manufactured anymore, sounds SWEET!
This thing was discontinued a while back but there seems to be a pretty healthy second hand market

Such a wonderful video with a great sounds! So cool demo performances you played here! Some of them reminds me the great Tangerine Dream of 80-90s. Thank you for sharing us these programs! Can't wait for the weekend to try them on my SY77. P.S. Your synth looks almost like my one - I installed the floppy emulator too and still didn't changed the original display to the new one.
